The Barn at High Point Farms

Each year the winter break seems short. We are busy with projects (and I will post about that soon once I get a few good photos) plus farm life and maintenance never seem to sleep.  Our first wedding of 2018 was such a sweet couple – they were perfect to start our year off.

Here are two lovebirds who had carefully planned this wedding day.  With a host of friends and a tight family, they are fortunate beyond words as they begin their journey.

The day began cloudy which made for some amazing photos without the glare of the sun.  Photographer Jenn Blackburn took advantage of this great lighting with plenty of detail shots and bridal party photos.

Leigh Ann’s gorgeous gown, with an elegant and vintage flair to it, hung beautifully on the old farmhouse front porch.

Our photographers always notice the details.

No early reveal at this  wedding….only  bridal party photos before the ceremony.

and a few moments to visit with the baby goat of course.

Early spring is way too early for sunflowers to be growing at the farm, but a wealth  of sunflowers  infused in the bouquets, tables, and arbor sure did give a spring effect to the venue.

With thunderstorms threatening the farm all  afternoon and everybody watching the radar on their phones…the decision to move the ceremony inside was  made.  This is always a difficult decision for the outdoor ceremonies are stunning – and a bride wants to have it the way she initially envisioned.  But Leigh Ann was all for eliminating the chaos or the stress of a last minute switcheroo.  It was really best to  move it inside so that all prepping could be concentrated on the inside ceremony.

The ceremony was stunning.  The arbor with its vines and flowers made for a perfect backdrop on the stage.  The wedding was sealed with a kiss – good job Brian!  Time for some photos, guests to enjoy cornhole and some drink, all before dinner.

First dances  on  the rock patio…..

A sweet embrace of father and daughter.

Great food (By Events with Taste) at the reception.

Stunning  cake

The evening was filled with great conversations by the bonfire, give-a-way soap favors, and dancing in the dancehall.

Plus a beautiful sparkler send off and one final kiss for the camera.

What  an awesome day and awesome way to jump start our wedding season.
