Summer Break

The weekend is over – our last bride of the season survived the unprecedented heat wave that blasted the country in style and without incident – and we have concluded our Part One season of 2012. We scheduled our month of July as an off month to recoop – to work on any projects (I’ll save this for another post soon – and with pictures too) – and to give my daughter/partner Jill a break seeing that her baby was due 7/1.  Well – as you faithful followers know – Emma Louise Baldschun was 3 weeks early but came to us healthy and beautiful and Jill is doing fine, so she has been taking it a bit easier for weeks now.
This year has already been fantastic in so many ways. It began with a very early wedding date of March 10th – one that I was a bit cautious about due to the unpredictable March weather – but turned out to be stunning in virtually every way. We had news this week that Style Me  Pretty has picked up those photos (by John Shim photography)  on this Ashley/Clayton wedding.  It was fun to reminisce about that wedding. We had had so many winter projects; our dance floor addition, driveway, add multiple doors to the barn so we could hunker down if the weather demanded….that we had used the March 10 as our target date for all of those projects – so it culminated in a huge celebration of sorts for us as well as for the wedding party.  For a few more additional pictures of that wedding – click here.
I think we had around 22 weddings this year so far and I think about the same already booked for the second half of the year and 16 or so forward minded brides who have already planned ahead for 2013.  Thank you so much for your support and interest in our venue. To our brides who have already been wed – we thank you so much for your generosity with sharing your photos. We have so enjoyed meeting such neat and “in love” couples – it is such a good thing to be in a business that affirms and reaffirms marriage. My hubby calls this the Love Ranch and we are awed and blessed to be a small part in so many couples “most special day.”
Remember – for all of those who follow my blog or facebook page – please leave your comments.  I relish them and look forward to the feedback.  On facebook – remember to “like” and “share” us with your friends.  The power of the social media for such a new entrepreneurial business like ours – is amazing – if we can just tap into it more fully.
I will write again soon with some of our projects…the Groom’s Room (a.k.a. the Man Cave) and the Supply Stall………more on that later.
