We tell our brides that we are not a cookie cutter - one size fits all - type venue....and this is true. We pride ourselves in providing some flexibility to their wedding dreams. You can have your ceremony under the grove of trees or in the horse ring or behind the barn overlooking the pasture full of farm animals or in the hayfield underneath the shadow of High Point. You can circle up your tables around a dance area in the middle of the barn or spill out into the lawn. We are a very specific genre - yes - but so far each wedding has been so very unique. Jill and I chatter away after each wedding as we talk about different aspects of each wedding that we liked or ideas that we thought were worthy of adding to our Idea Book. I will say that it pleases us immensely that our brides are able to make their wedding "their own" even within a very specific venue type like The Barn at High Point Farms.
So....as we wait quite impatiently for each couple to forward some of their photographs to us - we find that each wedding never ceases to amaze us - in the way that they not only capture our venue but in how the photographer is able to capture the essence of the couple. We have been very fortunately to have met so many fine photographers and they all have seemed almost giddy to be taking pictures in such a unique location as ours. It is a win win situation - for the photographer who is able to show their more creative side to the bride and groom who can have little works of art to commemorate their special occasion to "us" who are privileged to be able to use and tout these great photographs.

Vintage Always Works

A great backdrop for a divine commitment
We have established our niche - a farm venue. Yes - we have cute signs here and there, vintage decor dotted around the farm, lights strewn in the hayloft and white thick drapes adorning the barn. But - we do not create a cookie cutter established wedding scene. We allow our brides to choose their own wedding planner or even to decorate their venue as they see fit. This way - each wedding out here looks different and unique to the bride. We are amazed at the talented photographers who have come to record these special moments and we appreciate beyond words that they share their photos with us - and thus I have access to them on my website.

Blue Vinyl Creative Photography took pictures of the Kellie and Trenton wedding and has just recently posted pictures on his facebook page. These pictures were amazing! The guy certainly has a talent for seeing the art behind the photograph...and he has a method of antiquing the photos so that they almost look as though they are 70+ years old. As I roll through the line up of his pictures - I certainly felt as though he had captured the heart and soul of this special couple - Trenton and Kellie. They are both beautiful so the picture taking was easy enough but the poses and the snapshots show how in tune with their personalities he was.

In fact, I certainly felt was though he captured the heart and soul of our farm venue as well. We don't come with too many pretenses - we are who we are. Our old pole barn is weathered and worn and imperfect in so many ways - yet he exalts her finer qualities. The old farmhouse was originally built not long after the Civil War. It is no Victorian anything - but a plain and simple farmhouse - yet he is able to show her attractive side and almost catapulting her back in time when she was in her youth....

Blue Vinyl was able to see the beauty in the old aged pear trees - the worn out antique tractor - and the little treasures here and there throughout the farm.

I felt like a light had been lit on our little farm - a light that adds color and warmth when it hits its target. Thank you Blue Vinyl for the affirmation of our farm venue - that you have captured in your photos what we have hoped to accomplish in opening up our farm for such a business. We are humbled and pleased.
